Top Tips

Avoiding excessive stress requires regular check ins with yourself.  On a regular basis, create a recognition moment that allows you to understand how you are feeling and why you are feeling that way. This helps prevent an excessive build up and should allow you to address the primary challenge.

What stresses you may not stress the next person. Have acceptance of both yourself and others.

When stressed, you may find it hard to see the solution. Talking to others, and allowing them to help you find the answer will often enable you to move forward. These conversations are not always easy but the more you practise them, the easier they will become. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

An effective way to reduce momentary stress is to master the art of breathing.  This seems a simple enough thing to do but breathing slowly from the base of the lungs (diaphragmatic breathing) is an art – one that will help reduce your blood pressure and create a sense of calm.
